Installation Guide

System Requirements

Before installing Externum OS, ensure your system meets the following requirements:

  • Processor: 2GHz dual-core processor or better
  • RAM: 4GB minimum (8GB recommended)
  • Storage: 25GB available space
  • Graphics: Any modern GPU with OpenGL 3.3 support
  • Boot: UEFI with Secure Boot capability (optional)

Creating Installation Media

To install Externum OS, you'll need to create a bootable USB drive:

  1. Download the ISO

    Download the latest Externum OS ISO from our download page.

  2. Create a Bootable USB Drive

    Use one of the following tools to create your bootable USB:

    • On Linux: Use the dd command or the Startup Disk Creator
    • On Windows: Use Rufus or Etcher
    • On macOS: Use Etcher or the dd command in Terminal
  3. Verify the USB

    Ensure the USB was created correctly by checking its contents.

Installation Process

  1. Boot from USB

    Insert the USB drive and restart your computer. Access your boot menu (usually by pressing F12, F2, or Esc during startup) and select the USB drive.

  2. Start the Installer

    Once booted into the live environment, click on the "Install Externum OS" icon on the desktop.

  3. Follow the Installation Wizard

    The installer will guide you through language selection, disk partitioning, user creation, and other settings.

  4. Complete Installation

    After the installation completes, restart your computer and remove the USB drive.
